oh, to be a prodigy,
for something to come as easy as breathing
to love something so much that i can't live without it
to share with the world something they haven't seen before
what is it like to be a prodigy?
do the people even know how amazing they are?
do they have trouble imagining thinking at our level?
do we seem slow to them?
what is the life of a prodigy?
do they get bored easier than us?
do they fill their lives with nothing else?
do they live and breath their craft?
i may not be a prodigy,
but i do have something i can't live without.
i have trouble imagining not being able to do it.
and i live and breath my art.
no, i'm not a prodigy,
but i'm very glad that God made me me.

I have been watching a show on youtube called "my shocking story"and i have so far encountered four different prodigy stories, as well as other cases of amazing musical talent as a result of dissabilities. It makes me wonder sometimes what it must be like to be a prodigy. do they take their gift for granted? (and i'm not just talking about autistic children but just prodigies in general)
so... i wrote a poem, to get the thoughts out of my system, because it's 4am and i need to go to bed....
